As the festive season drew to a close, the Murray Bridge Trainers did all but slow down, with outstanding results stretching from Christmas Eve to the last Sunday of 2025.

Christmas Eve at Strathalbyn

The night before Christmas was true storytelling fashion for many of the Murray Bridge trainers, with Grant Young starting the day strong, having Campbell Rawiller race Shalhavmusik to it’s first win since running at Murray Bridge in late October. 

The excitement continued to the fourth race, where representation stood out with a trifecta of Murray Bridge trained horses. Sarah Rutten lead the charge with Connor Murtagh riding Big Mav to a 1.15 length win over Matthew Seyer’s Bolted In, with Jessica Tzaferis leading the second place horse a further 0.57 lengths in front of Lastar, Nicole Irwin’s 7YO Gelding ridden by Campbell Rawiller.

Alchian held a steady pace in race six, with Tracy Cox’s horse gaining a 0.75 length win through Teagan Voorham. The day ended strong with Ron Daniel & Trish Stanbury’s Tyusix coming home with a 1.08 length win with Alysha Warren pushing the horse across the winning post.

Boxing Day at Morphettville

Whilst the Boxing Day Test may not have provided what some hoped for, Sarah Rutten’s training and Sairyn Fawke’s riding provided Brimarvi Rosemari with a 0.6 length win in the second race. This was followed up with Andrew Clarken’s 4YO Mare Flaming Eyes taking out the third race, with Jason Holder bringing an astonishing 2.81 length win.

Naracoorte Win for the Jaensch Duo

Top Of The Ridge trained by Sue & Jason Jaensch won the fifth race at Naracoorte, wiht Campbell Rawiller providing a 0.36 length win for the Murray Bridge duo.

As the year draws to a close, the Murray Bridge Trainers continue to prove their strengths as we lead up to the New Year’s Day Races at their home turf.
