It was a rewarding week on the track for Murray Bridge trainers, with standout performances recorded across Port Lincoln, Oakbank and a big home meeting at Murray Bridge for the SpryCrete Christmas Cup.
Midweek Success at Port Lincoln
Midweek racing kicked off at Port Lincoln, where Murray Bridge connections struck gold in Race 8. Didwewin, trained by Garret Lynch and ridden by Caitlin Tootell, delivered a strong effort to score a confident victory by 0.84 lengths.
Oakbank Highlights
Action then shifted to Oakbank, producing another impressive set of results. In Race 6, Redwinelover, trained by Nicole Irwin and partnered by Kayla Crowther, proved too strong late to win by 0.24 lengths, while Bellentia, trained by Kristi Evans and ridden by Alana Livesey, fought on bravely to claim second place. Later in the day, Priscilla’s Choice gave connections plenty to cheer about, with Roslyn Day preparing the winner and Connor Murtagh in the saddle, cruising home to a dominant 2.99-length victory in Race Eight.
Big Day at Murray Bridge
The weekend wrapped up with a successful home meeting at Murray Bridge, headlined by multiple wins for local trainers. Race 2 saw Angel Torque, trained by Dan Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray and ridden by Emily Finnegan, produce an impressive performance to win by 2.55 lengths. Falaise continued the momentum in Race 6, with Stuart Padman and Jacob Opperman combining for a strong 0.57-length victory. The feature event, the SpryCrete Christmas Cup in Race 7, went to Extinguish, trained by Michael Hickmott and ridden by Todd Pannell, who dug deep to claim the win by 0.2 lengths. Rounding out the day, Conni Island capped off the meeting in style, with Heather Lehmann and Alysha Warren combining for a convincing 1.76-length win in Race 9.
With consistent results across multiple venues and a feature race victory at home, it was another successful week for Murray Bridge trainers, continuing the strong form heading into the busy festive racing period.
