RACE DATES CONFIRMED FOR 2026/27
Thomas Farms Murray Bridge will host 23 thoroughbred race meetings next season after Racing SA confirmed its racing program for 2026/27.
The exciting schedule is headlined by seven Saturday metropolitan racedays, including a two-day Murray Bridge Gold Cup Carnival on Saturday, 26 September (AFL Grand Final Day) and Saturday, 3 October (Gold Cup Day).
Once again, Thomas Farms Racecourse Murray Bridge will host SA Magic Millions Raceday on Saturday, 6 March, featuring the state’s richest two-year-old race, the $202,000 Magic Millions 2YO SA Classic.
Another feature two-year-old race, the Moorundi 2YO Classic, will now be run as a headline race on Saturday, 19 December alongside the popular Christmas Cup and serve a as a key lead-up to the Magic Millions Classic on the Gold Coast and the Blue Diamond Stakes in Melbourne.
It will form part of a busy summer schedule that will see Thomas Farms Racecourse Murray Bridge host seven race meetings between 6 December and 3 February.
The Club will host 16 provincial race meetings, including public holiday fixtures on New Year’s Day (Friday, 1 January) and Australia Day (Tuesday, 26 January).
Murray Bridge Racing Club Chairman John Leahy said the 2026/27 boasts feature racing across the spring, summer and autumn, while the track is again providing a reliable option for Racing SA to schedule regular racing at all times of the season.
“We’re excited to finalise our calendar for next season, which shapes as one of the most exciting in Thomas Farms Racecourse’s short history,” Leahy said.
“It’s pleasing that the Club has been able to establish itself as a mainstay for metropolitan-class racing and we’re committed to working hard to elevate our seven Saturday race meetings.
“We’ll really be leaning into the AFL Grand Final theme on the opening Day of the Carnival, which will beautifully set up our showpiece raceday, Murray Bridge Gold Cup Day, a week later.
“The week between the two racedays will be full of events that we hope will really engage the local community and the industry more broadly.”
