In the final week of spring, the Murray Bridge Trainers stood out from the crowd and delivered outstanding performances across South Australia.
Wednesday at Gawler & Barossa
Matthew Seyers brought strength into the afternoon at Gawler & Barossa, saddling up both Make Me A Star and Dunreal with Alysha Warren and Kayla Crowther stretching their leads to over two lengths each.
Running off of a second place in the last start, Silver Chaos trained by Roslyn Day ran first place with Connor Murtagh taking a 0.55 length lead.
Meanwhile, Garret Lynch started his week strong with Rokabye Warrior, with Sairyn Fawke leading the Gelding to a win in the second last race of the day.
Morphettville Parks: A Murray Bridge Trifecta
One of the week’s headline moments came at Morphettville Parks, where Murray Bridge trainers claimed the first race with a trifecta.
1st – Cielao (Michael Hickmott)
2nd – Extinguish (Michael Hickmott)
3rd – Angelic Appeal (Gary & Dean Alexander)
An impressive performance from Cielao had jockey Jessica Tzaferis full of praise, describing it as “total control from the get-go.” The Hickmott stable’s runner was simply too strong, with stablemate Extinguish completing a powerful one-two finish. Angelic Appeal, prepared by Gary & Dean Alexander, rounded out the trifecta with a determined third, adding even more local pride to the first race of the day.
Spring Wins at Ceduna
Murray Bridge trainer Garret Lynch took the Murray Bridge spirit to the west, taking out two of four races at Ceduna with Master Charlie and Strasbeau. It was a dominant showing that further cemented Lynch’s reputation for travelling his team far and wide with success.
Looking ahead, Murray Bridge trainers are set to carry their strong spring momentum into the opening week of summer. Several stables have key runners in Wednesday’s Balaklava races, with many aiming to build on last week’s standout results, leading to a home race at Murray Bridge’s Thomas Farms Family Fun Day, this Sunday.
