It was another outstanding week of racing across the state, with Murray Bridge trainers producing a dominant run of results at Murray Bridge, Gawler, Morphettville, and Port Augusta. Multiple stables found the winner’s stall, while local trainers also filled a host of placings, highlighting the depth of talent based at Murray Bridge as the season continues.

Murray Bridge on Wednesday:

The home track meeting began in Race Two with Sarah Rutten’s Sauer claiming victory by 0.37 lengths under Margaret Collett. In a remarkable display of local strength, Murray Bridge trainers filled first through to sixth in the first race.

Race Four saw Matthew Seyers’ Let It Ride score a strong 1.19-length win with Harry Grace aboard. Jessica Tzaferis’ Fierce Kiwi ran a bold race for second, while Sarah Rutten’s Faith’sacracker, ridden by Margaret Collett, finished third, 2.78 lengths from the winner.

Nicole Irwin added to the tally in Race Seven as Real Deluxe, partnered by Stacey Metcalfe, proved too good by 1.74 lengths. Grant Young’s Brave Action, ridden by Alyssa Webb, filled second placing.

Sarah Rutten secured her second win of the day in Race Eight when Head Of The Herd, with Zephen Johnston-Porter aboard, won by 0.78 lengths. John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs’ France’s Boy was runner-up with Caitlin Hollowood aboard, while Garret Lynch’s Explicable, ridden by Deborah Barton, finished third, 2.63 lengths from the winner.

Race Nine completed a stellar meeting for Murray Bridge horsemen, with Grant Young’s The True Believer winning by 0.87 lengths under Alyssa Webb. Matthew Seyers’ United Legend, partnered by Jacob Opperman, finished second.

Gawler on Friday:

Murray Bridge success continued at Gawler, beginning in Race Two where Paul Carey’s Sir Castleton delivered a commanding 2.46-length victory with Jason Holder in the saddle.

Nicole Irwin struck again in Race Five as Artissi, ridden by Sophie Potter, saluted by 1.45 lengths.

Sarah Rutten rounded out the day in Race Six with an emphatic performance from Caseweluvadelaide, which powered home by 3.32 lengths under Teagan Voorham.

Morphettville on Saturday:

Saturday metropolitan racing saw Stephen Theodore claim success in Race Nine with Fine Future, narrowly prevailing by 0.61 lengths under Kayla Crowther.

Port Augusta on Sunday:

The week concluded in style at Port Augusta where Garret Lynch enjoyed a training double. Explicable, ridden by Tala Hutchinson, won Race Three by 2.96 lengths before Ti Tree Royal, with Alyssa Webb aboard, produced the most dominant win of the week in Race Five, scoring by 6.93 lengths.
