With scorching temperatures covering South Australia, we saw races at Morphettville and the Strathalbyn Cup be postponed, but Oakbank on Wednesday and Mount Gambier on Sunday still showed the heat wasn’t just in the air, but in the spirit of Murray Bridge Horses.

Oakbank on Wednesday

In the First Race of the day, Michael Hickmott’s Impact Storm win by 0.95, with Todd Pannell showing the work put in during it’s four week break from racing. This was followed by the 100% place rate horse You’resogolden, with Ben Price following up a 3rd place in Strathalbyn with a 1.83 length win in the second race for Michael Hickmott’s horse. 

The Murray Bridge strength continued into the third race, with Garret Lynch’s 0.68 length win for Jura Vaudois, ridden by Alyssa Webb.

Mount Gambier on Sunday:

With Morphettville abandoning races the day before, Nicole Irwin couldn’t run Vexatious Dancer in the last, but still had Artissi win the Fourth Race at Mount Gambier, with Sophie Potter taking a 1.35 length win, coming up from the 2nd in Kingscote a week earlier.
