It was another strong week of racing across the state, with Murray Bridge trainers again well represented across the card at Balaklava, Morphettville, and Naracoorte. A mix of dominant wins and tight finishes saw multiple stables strike throughout the week, continuing a consistent run of form as the season rolls on.

Balaklava on Wednesday:

Midweek racing at Balaklava began with success for Michael Hickmott as Fringes proved too strong in Race Two, scoring by 1.98 lengths with Todd Pannell aboard.

Race Three saw Sarah Rutten’s Cosmic Interlude salute in a tight finish, claiming victory by 0.24 lengths under Alysha Warren. Rutten nearly secured the quinella as Minya Murra, partnered by Rochelle Milnes, finished strongly into third, only 0.93 lengths from the winner.

Jessica Tzaferis added to the Murray Bridge tally in Race Seven when Exotic Dancer, ridden by Teagan Voorham, powered home for an impressive 3.44-length win. Good Expectations for Matthew Seyers and Jake Toeroek filled second place.

Morphettville on Saturday:

Saturday metropolitan racing at Morphettville delivered another Murray Bridge success in the final event, with Justin Pickering’s Jilladora finishing strongly to claim Race Ten by one length under Alysha Warren.

Naracoorte on Sunday:

The weekend concluded with a productive day at Naracoorte, beginning in Race Two where Michael Hickmott’s Taken To Task held on gamely for a 0.46-length win with Todd Pannell in the saddle. Kayla Kruzen, trained by Matthew Seyers and ridden by Kayla Crowther, finished second.

Race Three produced another local success as Tanna, prepared by Ron Daniel & Trish Stanbury and ridden by Campbell Rawiller, secured victory by 0.47 lengths.

Matthew Seyers rounded out the weekend in Race Four with Frankel Star, which narrowly prevailed by 0.24 lengths under Connor Murtagh.
