A Busy Week for Murray Bridge Trainers

It was another impressive week on the track for Murray Bridge trainers, recording consistent results across multiple South Australian race meetings.

Midweek Action

Midweek action saw five placings at Strathalbyn on Wednesday, followed by a strong showing at Morphettville on Friday with six placings, highlighting the depth and consistency coming out of the Murray Bridge region.

Gawler & Bordertown Success

The weekend delivered even more success, starting at Gawler on Saturday where Murray Bridge connections dominated the winners’ circle with three victories, leading all the way to Bordertown on Sunday.

Smother, trained by Michael Hickmott and ridden by Todd Pannell, dug deep to claim a thrilling victory, getting in by just 0.05 lengths.

Snoopy Now, trained by Darryl Hewitt and ridden by Jacob Opperman, produced a strong performance to win by 0.86 lengths,

Cielao, also trained by Michael Hickmott and pushed across the line by Jessica Tzaferis, rounded out the day, winning its race by 0.13 lengths.

The winning momentum continued into Bordertown on Sunday where Briseis Eclipse, trained by Stephen Theodore and ridden by Campbell Rawiller, delivered a dominant display, charging home to score by an impressive 3.44 lengths.

Looking ahead to the week, trainers will turn their attention to meetings at Port Lincoln and Oakbank before returning home to Murray Bridge on Saturday for the annual SpryCrete Christmas Cup, then rounding out the weekend at Mount Gambier. With Christmas just around the corner, hopes are high for strong results and a successful week on the track.
