It was another exceptional week for Murray Bridge trainers, with victories spread across Murray Bridge, Morphettville, Morphettville Parks and Mount Gambier. A remarkable home-track meeting on Tuesday saw local trainers dominate the card before the success continued throughout the week with metropolitan and country winners.
Murray Bridge on Tuesday:
Local trainers enjoyed a sensational day at Thomas Farms Racecourse, winning every race on the program and showcasing the strength of the Murray Bridge training ranks.
Roslyn Day opened proceedings in Race One as Et Tu Kirkliston, ridden by Ashvin Goindasamy, claimed a 0.43-length victory.
Race Two produced the closest finish of the day, with Stuart Padman’s Took Gardner, partnered by Alysha Warren, prevailing by the narrowest of margins—just 0.01 lengths.
Andrew Clarken added his name to the winners’ list in Race Four when Rikki Rikkardo, ridden by Todd Pannell, scored comfortably by 0.95 lengths.
Hannah Bryce continued the winning run in Race Five as Ironbar, with Connor Murtagh aboard, held on to win by a head, just 0.05 lengths.
Gary Boyce struck in Race Six with Gazelle, ridden by Alysha Warren, which fought on gamely to score by 0.23 lengths.
John Macmillan claimed Race Seven with Sioux Warrior, partnered by Brooke King, winning by 0.3 lengths.
Jessica Tzaferis rounded out a memorable day for the home trainers in Race Eight as Kalosyni, ridden by Polly Brewster, got the nod in another thrilling finish, prevailing by just 0.01 lengths.
The meeting was a tremendous result for the Murray Bridge training community, with local stables claiming every race on the program and highlighting the remarkable depth of talent based at Thomas Farms Racecourse.
Morphettville on Wednesday:
Roslyn Day continued her outstanding week in Race Seven as Cradle Of Jazz, ridden by Andrew Stead, produced a strong finishing effort to win by 1.84 lengths.
Linda Treloar followed up in Race Eight with Rocktagon, partnered by Harry Grace, scoring by 0.66 lengths.
Morphettville Parks on Saturday:
Metropolitan success continued over the weekend with Stephanie Lacy taking out Race Seven as Prickly Poppy, ridden by Ashvin Goindasamy, claimed victory by 0.51 lengths.
Roslyn Day celebrated her third winner of the week in Race Eight when Silver Chaos, with Harry Grace aboard, proved too strong by 1.47 lengths.
John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs rounded out the metropolitan meeting in style as Cool Magnum, partnered by Brad Rawiller, produced an impressive 3.73-length victory in Race Nine.
Caulfield on Saturday:
Looking outside of South Australia, Darryl Hewitt travelled to Caulfield in the hopes of chasing his maiden group success, with Sir Now finishing only 0.61 lengths after striking the front in the shadows of the post, landing a third place finish in the Sir John Monash Stakes, the highlight race of the meet.
Mount Gambier on Sunday:
Sue & Jason Jaensch struck in Race Five as Gusty Way, ridden by Harry Grace, scored by 0.75 lengths.
Kylie Schulz concluded another successful week for Murray Bridge trainers in Race Seven when Robert The Puss, partnered by Andrew Stead, prevailed by 0.32 lengths.
It was another outstanding week for the Murray Bridge training ranks, highlighted by a clean sweep of the home meeting on Tuesday and continued success across metropolitan and country South Australia.
