The first week of February is all wrapped up, with Murray Bridge Trainers racing across the state, starting at home at the Thomas Farms Racecourse Murray Bridge, going central for Morphettville races on Saturday and backtracking to Naracoorte on Sunday.

Murray Bridge on Wednesday

Arlo’s Dream took home it’s first win in the Fred Vella Tyre & Crash Repair Maiden Plate, with Campbell Rawiller taking Garret Lynch’s horse to a 1.28 length win in the horse’s second race at Murray Bridge, the last being almost a year ago in April 2025.

Later in the day, Roslyn Day took home her second win of the month with Connor Murtagh in the saddle to bring Brown Nose Day Gal to a 1.31 length win after it’s three weeks of resting from it’s last race in Oakbank.

Morphettville on Saturday:

In Race Five at Morphettville, Mick Huxtable trained Longer Route with Rochelle Milnes saddling to an impressive 3.7 length win, the fifth win for the horse, building momentum from it’s third placing in it’s last at Morphettville.

In the second last race of the day, Daisydoo took home a 0.25 length finish, Margaret Collett taking the saddle for Justin Pickering’s horse, increasing it’s now 80% placing and 27% winning statistics.

Naracoorte Cup on Sunday:

Nicole Irwin started the day strong, with Bel Hotesse closing in on a 0.05 length lead from Sophie Potter’s efforts for the Maiden.

There are four race meetings to look forward to this week, beginning at Gawler & Barossa on Wednesday, followed by Clare on Friday and Morphettville Parks on Saturday, before culminating with the Lock Cup on Saturday. Murray Bridge trainers are currently represented in every race at Gawler & Barossa, ensuring the racing week gets off to a strong start for the teams travelling down the Country Road.
