It was another productive week for Murray Bridge trainers across Strathalbyn, Bordertown, and Morphettville, with a strong mix of winners and placings highlighting the continued depth of the local training ranks.
Strathalbyn on Wednesday:
Roslyn Day kicked off the meeting in Race Three with a quinella, as Roadking, ridden by Harry Grace, proved too strong to win by 0.77 lengths. Stablemate Forever A Diamond, partnered by Brooke King, finished second, while fellow Murray Bridge trainers were also in the finish with Bob Richard claiming third and Stuart Padman fourth, 6.99 lengths from the winner.
Dan Clarken & Oopy MacGillivray combined for success in Race Five as Like A Drifter, with Tala Hutchinson aboard, delivered a dominant 3.82-length victory. Hutchinson made it back-to-back wins on the card, going on to secure Race Six as well.
Garret Lynch added another winner in Race Six when Carashan Chloe, ridden by Tala Hutchinson, fought on strongly to score by 0.57 lengths.
Bordertown on Friday:
Jessica Tzaferis continued her consistent run of form in Race Eight with Everythingisautumn, ridden by Melissa Julius, winning by 0.95 lengths. The race showcased further Murray Bridge depth, with Garret Lynch’s Lumber Dream finishing second under Connor Murtagh, and Hannah Bryce’s Hallstatt, ridden by Campbell Rawiller, finishing third, 1.45 lengths from the winner.
Morphettville – SA Derby Day on Saturday:
Feature racing at Morphettville saw Michael Hickmott claim Race Four with Wine Barron, holding on for a 0.8-length win under Todd Pannell. Stuart Padman’s Joviale, partnered by Rochelle Milnes, ran a strong race to finish second.
Garret Lynch added to his weekend tally in Race Six as Alainge, ridden by Harry Grace, produced an impressive performance to win by 2.68 lengths.
A special mention and congratulations to Sairyn Fawke, who travelled to Alice Springs on Monday for their Cup Day meeting and made an immediate impact, training the winner of the opening race on the card—a fantastic result on a big stage.
