Spring Racing Lunch featuring the MBRC Racing Awards

Tickets are on sale for the Murray Bridge Racing Club’s Annual Spring Racing Lunch, which will feature the 2025/26 MBRC Awards. The event, which will be held in the trackside Bridges Event Centre on Thursday, 24 September, will set the scene for two brilliant days of spring racing across the 2026 Murray Bridge Gold Cup Carnival on Saturday, 26 September and Saturday, 3 October.

Star jockey turned media personality Simon Marshall will be the special guest, recounting stories about his glory days in the saddle and his life in the spotlight as one of racing’s most recognisable faces on TV. Marshall fronts the popular Get On SA program on Racing.com and will be giving all his tips and insights ahead of the 2026 Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Gold Cup.

The event will double as the MBRC Awards, recognising the incredible achievements of Murray Bridge trainers during the 2025/26 racing season. The revamped awards format will include accolades for the Horse of the Year, Trainer of the Year (wins & strike rate), Rising Star and Outstanding Achievements.

And the Club will also shine a light on a special cause, with a series of coveted items and experiences available in a silent auction to raise funds for Hayley Penna, a 25-year-old South Australian with Autonomic Failure. The daughter of a horse trainer and a stable hand prior to her illness being diagnosed, Hayley is in the fight of her life and all funds raised will go towards her ongoing medical treatment.

Tickets for the event are $55 and include a delicious plated lunch and a drink on arrival. Drinks will be available at bar prices during the event.
